Segregated Funds are in many respects like Mutual Funds that are guaranteed by a Life Insurance Company. The guarantees are often: Guaranteed return of principal at death and/or maturity (often 10-years to maturity). Like Mutual Funds, most Seg Funds can be cashed or moved. Seg Funds have a higher MER (Management Expense Ratio) to help pay for the guarantees and sometimes return 1% or 2% less than its equivalent Mutual Fund. Seg Funds are provided through Life Insurance Companies. Mutual Funds are provided through Hub Capital, our Mutual Funds Dealership. |
